Introduction to SEO and Current Google Trends

Google is changing all the time and just last week Google Plus decided to close their doors. Good thing too, because it sucked.

Blogging is a powerful way to build your SEO because:

  • It gives you an opportunity to use keywords.

  • It allows you to constantly update your website (Bonus Google points!).

  • When you blog you continually publish new tips and tricks on Google.

  • It is an opportunity to whisper in Google’s ear what you want to be found for.

  • It can help you build authentic shareable content, and make your site an SEO machine.

Looking at Keywords, Google My Business, and Tips & Tricks

Google is the best search engine out there. Studies show that users prefer Google to anything else. The problem here is that Google doesn’t play nice with other businesses, such as Apple and Microsoft. Because of this, searches being made through Cortana and Siri are powered by Bing… this is why we have to pay attention to Bing — not because of users, but because of politics.

Sponsored Ads show up on the top of the page and you can build them out by using Google Adwords or Google Adwords Express. Pay attention to what words you are using — they should be user-friendly and Google friendly.

If you are looking to submit your URL’s to get crawled by Google, check out these instructions.

Here’s my favourite magic trick…

build a Google My Business page

It is really important to build out a Google My Business page. This will create a listing on the side of Google and will let Google know what hours you’re open, what your website is, your phone number, and will even include pictures if you allow them.

Here’s another gooder…

Spend Time Looking At Related Searches

People don’t spend enough time looking at the “Related Searches” at the bottom of the page. This is a FREE goldmine of information that Google provides you with.

Check out my book, yo…

I share my three favourite types of Keywords

  1. Product Keywords - What products you are providing.

  2. Consumer Keywords - What the consumers are searching.

  3. Fighting Keywords - What your competition is using.

Submit those urrrrrrrrls.

Submit your URL to Google

URL’s are a powerful way to impact your SEO - Remember that Google sees dashes as spaces.

Note* Google has removed the option to submit a public URL. Google now recommends using Google Search Console's Fetch & Submit tool in order to notify them of your new webpage.

Wish I would have known that before I went live….

A Closer Look at Keywords, Paid Advertising & Blogging for SEO

The easier we make things for our consumers, the better - if people are searching specific things, you can link back to those pages on your website. Learn about Google Adwords because if Google is making money, Google is happy. A well-structured ad campaign doesn’t even have to run, it just has to be set up correctly.
